Todd at pure BS has fixed my template for now.

I owe him a great deal of gratitude.

If you somehow find this weblog, you should check his out. He's a real geek ;), but a nice guy.

He has a cool article posted about bin Laden's latest dispatch, and has a couple of interesting insights into bin Laden's lack of effect on the oil market, and his Koran banned suicide pact.

Me, well I'm still at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Been on a break lately as my Dick has been runnin' the show. As ya'll know, turd blossom's in a bit deep. I may have to hogtie that sow to keep him in line :)

Scatterdly yours,

Hey, the Iraqis are free..

Except that they're really not.

The US still controls most of Iraq's material assets, the 150K+ foreign troops in the country, and the newly annointed Iraqi newest interim governing authority has no authority.

Meet the new boss. Same as the old boss.

***

The more things don't change, the more they do.

The early handover of 'sovereignty' was reportedly done in an attempt to forestall 'terrorist' attacks believed to coordinated with the scheduled 'handover' on 30 June.

So, you have the US coordinating with terrorists, and we need some new dictionary rntries for the words 'handover' and 'sovereignty.'

Hence, the twisted phrasing of this sub-entry.

It's a whacky world.

This "new blogger" really does suck. Screw the eye-candy. Give me the speed back. Bastids.

Gasoline prices.

You'd think that with our total world dominance we'd be able to alter gasoline prices for our own ends.

However, it's not that there is insufficient oil. It's that our highly subsidized(yes, your tax dollars fund Exxon-Mobil) oil industry didn't build adequate refining capacity because it cost too much.

Well, the billion dollars/day it costs the economy just might be enough to send Bush back to Crawfish.

I don't think cheap gasoline is an entitlement. My car gets around 40 mpg. Fuck it. I still haven't spent more than $5/week on gasoline.

Things that suck today:

Rumsfeld

The whole Iraq issue

neocons

The Friday Five

New Blogger

Cool things today:

Benzodiazepines

time in the gym

good day.

Give Democracy Now! a listen to...Joe Wilson is interviewed by Amy Goodman. There's more there than just the Plame affair.

I'll tell you, Wilson knows stuff. Amongst other things, Wilson notes just how damned long the investigation about the 'outing' of his wife is taking. He rightly takes Bush to task for not getting to the bottom of the issue.

Wilson rocks!

I think it's time to start looking more closely at Kerry. He seems to be more 'Bush-Lite' by the day.

What and the hell is his unqualified support for Bush's Likud buddy's new "roadmap" WTF is that about? I know. The US jewish vote.

Luckily since then, more rational heads have prevailed and now Israel's Likud party is going to have referendum on the issue. Of course it's still possible that Sharon's dreadful disrespect of the pre-1967 boders will be partially ignored.

And then there's Kerry's performance on MTP. Breaking ranks with virtually every world leader save for Bush and Sharon, he says the following:
MR. RUSSERT: Israel assassinated Hamas leader Rantisi. Do you support that assassination?

SEN. KERRY: I believe Israel has every right in the world to respond to any act of terror against it. Hamas is a terrorist, brutal organization. It has had years to make up its mind to take part in a peaceful process. They refuse to. Arafat refuses to. And I support Israel's efforts to try to separate itself and to try to be secure. The moment Hamas says, "We've given up violence, we're prepared to negotiate," I am absolutely confident they will find an Israel that is thirsty to have that negotiation.

MR. RUSSERT: On Thursday, President Bush broke with the tradition and policy of six predecessors when he said that Israel can keep part of the land seized in the 1967 Middle East War and asserted the Palestinian refugees cannot go back to their particular homes. Do you support President Bush?

SEN. KERRY: Yes.

MR. RUSSERT: Completely?

SEN. KERRY: Yes.
I am now wondering whether or not Kerry has had a brain transplant.

All things being unequal, Kerry does understand the real and gathering threat facing us. Global climate change. If for no other reason, this is enough to kick Bush out. I have hundreds of other reasons, but I'll reserve comment for another post.

Wow. Long time no blog. I guess this hasn't turned out as well as I had wished.

Anyhow, I was just at Pure Bs and there is a mind-altering poll result.

It seems that most American's are truly clue free.

Among those who believed inspectors had found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, 72 percent said they would vote to re-elect Bush in November and 23 percent said they supported his Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry. Among those who knew that no WMD had been found, the numbers were almost exactly reversed -- 74 percent supporting Kerry and 23 percent backing the president.

So, if you're a certifiable loon, Bush is your boy. Who knew?

Fuckin' sad.

I have to work tonight :-/

I won't be making any post-Sunday gawk show armchair pundit commentary. Sleep is more important. I suggest that you check my usual sources for material.

American Politics Journal's pundit pap is always entertaining, and pure bs alerted me that Richard A. Clarke is appearing on Meat the Oppressed. Let's hope that potato Russert pitches some (whatever a name for a hard to hit pitch in baseball is) to Clarke, and Clarke hits them out of the park.

I am now convinced after Bush's performance this past week that he is not a well man. And what about the press corps? With the notable exception of The Nation Washington editor David Corn, they are all part of the 'problem.' I mean that in the strongest possible terms.

Non fact-checking corporate weasels, that put career and 'access' over accuracy. Perhaps I'm giving them too much praise.
